Calcium Chloride Hexahydrate

Calcium Chloride Hexahydrate is used in the pharmaceutical industry as well as for passive cooling applications as a latent heat energy storage material.  Premier Chemicals supply hexahydrate calcium chloride and are totally equipped to offer the best grade for pharmaceutical and latent heat storage applications.

PCM or Phase Change Material
Calcium Chloride Hexahydrate  ‘melts’ at above 29C, it absorbs a lot of heat. When the temp drops and the hexahydrate solidifies again, it gives off the heat. By this mechanism  it helps to regulate temperature. The Calcium Chloride Hexahydrate is known as a ‘phase change material’ or PCM.
This application is particularly useful for the control of the temperature within structures such as greenhouses (glasshouses) and electronic equipment shelters, which should not significantly exceed about 30°C.
