Food Grade Calcium Chloride

Premier Chemicals offer food grade calcium chloride Flake and Liquid which has been produced to the highest standards to maintain high levels of consistency and purity.  To ensure quality and traceability each shipment comes with a Certificate of Analysis.

Calcium chloride has applications in many areas in the food industry, since calcium is an essential component of plant structures and is necessary in animal and human nutrition. Premier Chemicals’ food grade products are the highest quality in the industry and meet the requirements of the Food Chemical Codex, 5th Edition as well as the EC 2000/63, as well as being Kosher certified.

Food grade calcium chloride is used in a wide variety of applications which include but are not limited to;

  • As a salt substitute in the production of meat products and as a meat tenderiser
  • As an electrolyte and source of calcium in the beverage, soft drink and brewing industries
  • As a sequestrant to preserve the quality and stability of food products
  • In enzyme production, the calcium ion acts as a co-factor in some products.
  • As a source of calcium in the production of cheese.
  • As a firming agent in canned fruits and pickled vegetables
