Calcium Chloride Water Treatment Applications

Calcium Chloride (CaCl2) is used as an additive in both waste water treatments and water hardening applications where it is deficient in calcium ions.

Waste Treatment

Here, the addition of calcium chloride can clarify water by removing the flocculants; through precipitating other ions i.e. fluoride and forming chemically stable compounds, thus making this treatment cost-effective and controllable due to the solubility of CaCl2.

Hardening Treatment

Calcium Chloride is also used as a water hardening agent helping to maintain the balance of ions in applications such as swimming pools and aquariums.
